Sports Rehab Therapy Center
Pin and Stretch TherapyLet face it, there are clinics for your heart, clinics for you bones, clinics for you allergies, clinics for your feet....where are the clinics for you muscles? Most of the time, you are given muscle relaxers (just pain medication) and your limb or body part is wrapped in a bandage and told to just "rest"....wrong!!! If you are half-way healthy, movement can be restored to your injury in a very short time by increasing the circulation of new blood to the area. In fact, the longer you wait, the more immobile the injury, the longer it will take to heal the problem. If left alone, the injury will show up years later as chronic pain and then you are really in trouble.
There is a fix for this problem. It is called "pin and stretch" or "soft-tissue release". It is not new at all. But, it is practiced by a very few because it is an intensely physical form of therapy. This is the specialty therapy practiced at Lake Travis Wellness Center. We have healed all kinds of problems from carpel tunnel to ankle problems.
Advanced Soft Tissue Therapy
Therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 1 hour or 1 1/2 hour depending upon the severity of the problem. These are not relaxation "spa" type of massage, but actual soft-tissue therapy sessions, dedicated to lengthening all muscle groups involved in your particular problem. The number of sessions required to give you lasting relief can depend on several factors, including the length of time you have had this problem, your age and activity level and if you are on any medications. These sessions are often painful but I work to the tolerance level of a client. We don't have to do it all in one session if you wish. Some clients wish to try to file insurance since these are actual therapy sessions. Please let me know before hand and I will provide you with the necessary paperwork you can file with your insurance company. A one hour session, which is the most common, is $85.00. All fees are due at the time of therapy. You can file for your insurance company to reiumburse you. Whether they will depends totally on the type of insurance you have. It often amazes me that people will spend $100.00 per month to have cable television and balk at spending $170.00 on their bodies to be able to go through their days free of pain. The decision is yours.
TestimonialsYou have taken so much pain out of my daily life. I am thankful for having found you. It's not 100% yet, but it will be sometime. I am going to give it a few more weeks of a mix of mild exercise, rest and stretching. And icing - I ice it every day. If I do not have full range of motion by the time I get back from Baltimore in early December, I will give Ken a call. I hope you have a good Thanksgiving break.
Karen's techniques at the Lake Travis Pain Clinic keep me going through my busy teaching and playing schedule. I highly recommend her. Keep up the good work.

Karen has been the massage therapist for my husband and myself for the past three years. We feel she is very knowledgeable when it comes to the human body, muscles and sore areas. Karen is a very deep tissue massage therapist who truly wants to heal the body. She goes beyond just giving you a massage because she truly cares if you get better. She usually follows up a massage that has been painful with a phone call to see how you are feeling. We both feel that she has healed us from many sports injuries as well as other times when we have pulled muscles.

I came in with a leg swollen from ankle to knee and black and blue. I was able to play the entire basketball game after just one treatment on that same night. Amazing. Thanks.

In August of 2004, I fell on a wet tile floor. As I was falling, I saw my legs extended out in front of me. Instantly I thought of landing on my bottom on that hard tile floor. I knew that if I did there would be a possibility that I could break a hip. Immediately I extended my right arm behind and downward to brace my fall. When I hit I felt intense pain in my right shoulder. I really thought I had broken my shoulder. Long story short, I did not break any bones. However, I did injure my right shoulder severely.I knew there was a great possibility that I may have surgery. I was unwilling to consider this if there was any other way to be made whole. I tried a couple of options. Karen Million was recommended to me. I went to see her and after the first visit, I thought my shoulder, as well as my whole body was coming apart with pain. Karen assured me that this was part of the process of healing. I had internal scarring that had to be broken up. This way, Karen reminded me, was the only way I was going to stay out of surgery and my shoulder would be able to heal. This process would also take time.Over a period of three to six months of continuous meetings with Karen Million and her Pain Clinic, my shoulder injury did indeed heal, just as she predicted. Today, three years later I have recovered about 97% mobility in my shoulder. Thank God and thank you Karen Million. I was able to stay out of surgery. Karen Million and her understanding of the human anatomy and just how it works has been a God-send in my life. I highly recommend her services.

Thanks Karen! After my soft tissue release session with you my arm felt like a million bucks the next day and it was the fastest recovery I have ever had for my shoulder. In fact, my shoulder felt a full range a motion once again. My throws from shortstop are not killing my elbow or shoulder anymore, and I'm throwing hard and flat again. Thank you so much, I'll tell my teammates about you!!!
